Packing
A few definites
- Appropriate work and play attire (our Placement Manager will contact you with more details on “what to wear”)
- A small backpack
- Towels (kitchen/bath; sheets are provided)
- Any prescription medicine you will need during the term, prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses, etc.
- An umbrella (rarely rains in the summer)
- Laptop (if you have one already) and electric converters/adaptors if needed
- Copy of your résumé (electronic and hard copy)
- A camera
- Keep in mind that every airline does have weight restrictions – be sure to double-check how much luggage you are allowed to bring on the plane.
- Your passport and insurance card
- Two full suitcases (try packing two half-filled suitcases)
A few no-nos

- 1,000 Toiletries (unless you MUST use a very specific brand, you can buy anything you need in Madrid)
- 1,000 shoes
- Anything you would be upset to lose
Keep in mind
As with everything in Madrid, be ready to adapt. Our advice is there to help you fit in to business and social everyday life. Some personal choices of dress and appearance that are acceptable in the United States may not be in Spain. Our Placement Manager will let you know more of these differences, we just wanted to give you heads up.
