Student Life

The first thing many people think of when you mention Geneva is the UN or the World Health Organization – a city of international diplomacy. But Geneva is also a beautiful city, nestled on the shores of Lac Léman, also called Lac de Geneve. It is situated in the heart of Europe and is only a 1-2 hour flight away from other European capitals – a perfect base for weekend exploration. There are many monuments and museums where you can learn about history and art. When you want to relax and enjoy the lake you can have a boat cruise and see the surrounding residences and villas. Or visit one of the 20 different parks where you can find a chess game, play your guitar, or share a picnic with friends.

When night falls, Geneva becomes even more beautiful with the city’s lights reflecting on the lake.  You can find many good restaurants – Swiss and French are the most common but, in such an international city, it shouldn’t be a surprise that there are also many ethnic restaurants. If you want to enjoy live music from all over the world, many bars sponsor free concerts. During the summer, Geneva hosts several music and art festivals, which are unique, entertaining, and free for the most part.
