EUSA ANNOUNCES 2012 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

EUSA is pleased to announce the “A thousand to thrive: Investing in Experience” scholarship for new program development in Dublin fall 2012, or Madrid and Paris summer and fall 2012.

The unpaid academic internship placements EUSA secures are available in a variety of fields.  EUSA strives to find the best fit placement for each of our partners’ students.  Some examples of past placements include, but are not limited to:

DUBLIN

A LUXURY MEMBER’S CLUB

Interns help with media and press releases for this organization.  Students are responsible for making phone calls to update databases, updating financial records, maintaining the Facebook page and doing database research.

A LEGAL FIRM

Interns learn from both the marketing and accounting departments.  Projects include working on proposals, editing the website, creating training manuals for the contact database and doing general research as well as research on competitor firms.  The intern also makes calls to clients, writes letters and sends checks to clients, and updates time recordings.

MADRID

A PUBLIC HOSPITAL

This public hospital focuses on treating children and adolescents with eating disorders and identifying their contributing factors.  Interns observe clinical psychologists and psychiatrists with patients and parents, sit in on interviews and respond to patients’ diary entries.  Students learn the various psychological, physiological and behavioral symptoms related to eating disorders.

AN ONLINE WEDDING PLANNING COMPANY

This website provides engaged couples with recommendations for high-end providers in every aspect of wedding planning.  The site also provides space for them to create websites and an online registry.  Past intern projects have included market research for expansion to other countries, photo editing and posting articles for the website.

PARIS

PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO

At this photography agency, interns help make the organization more international by translating texts ranging from biographies to short stories that pertain to the photograph or the photographer.  They also help clients write grants and research potential clients and publications for future stories.

A HOSPITAL

Interns at this hospital will gain exposure to various departments depending on their interests.  Some have worked with pediatrics and attended meetings to discuss with the doctors aspects of the hospital.  Others work with surgeons and are allowed to watch operations and consultations.

In addition to academic internship services, EUSA can provide a variety of opportunities such as designing custom academic courses and recruitment of qualified faculty, arranging classroom space, organizing student accommodation and providing on-site support.
