FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Overview
The Financial Controller will have responsibility for the accounting and financial control of EUSA LLP, a multicurrency not-for-profit Limited Liability Partnership. The role will be based in South Kensington, London.
Reporting Relationships
Financial Controller will report to Finance Director.
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for:
- Maintaining all accounting records (e.g. cash book, sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger) using a sophisticated multicurrency accounting package (IRIS Exchequer).
- Production of monthly management accounts and commentary on actual to budget comparisons.
- Managing company credit card accounts and staff expenses.
- Instructing and liaising with the outsourced payroll provider on staff and salaries and payroll taxes.
- Liaising with tax authorities in Europe and USA.
- Raising invoices & performing the credit control function with clients.
- Managing supplier payments & queries
- Production of accurate cash flow predictions.
- Production of annual audit file, Financial Accounts and liaising with auditors.
- Serve as the Finance contact point for European and US sites
- Other assignments and projects as required
Profile and Requirements
The candidate should be a graduate qualified accountant or finalist.
Technical skills required:
- Ability to understand multicurrency accounting
- Excellent spreadsheet skills
- Ability to grasp complex concepts and detailed rules
- Able to work confidently with accounting systems and interfaces
- Experience of IRIS exchequer would be useful

DUBLIN DIRECTOR
Overview
The Dublin Director is directly responsible for the successful planning, progress, and completion of all EUSA Programs in Dublin, Ireland. Major responsibilities include - but are not limited to: direction of EUSA office and staff of 2-6 (depending on season); broadening internship opportunities, overseeing successful internship process, relations with partner universities; student housing; student health and safety; orientation and advising; programming academic calendars and faculty recruitment;. The Dublin Director carries out and participates in EUSA-wide projects and activities as requirements and resources dictate.
EUSA’s Dublin programs are in high demand, with interest from both university partners and their students continuing to grow. The Dublin office is fast paced, and the team prides itself on its adaptability, consistent program quality, and student satisfaction. The Dublin Director will be overseeing the implementation of EUSA’s overall strategy of managed growth with an emphasis on maintaining the quality of our programs and internships. Spring and summer 2012 will see the Dublin team providing high quality internships and programs – including housing, academics, emergency support, social programming, and logistics – to over 400 students, its largest enrolment ever.
This position is based in Dublin.
Reporting Relationships

Accountabilities
- Ensure programs run as requested by the partner university including oversight of program direction, internship placement, academics, emergency support, cultural events and logistics
- Leadership and direction for all aspects of Dublin operations
Responsibilities
- Manage Program, Placement, and Administrative staff including internal performance management process
- Manage internships, maintaining quality and broadening of opportunities
- High level contribution to Dublin growth strategy
- Oversee academic services in Dublin by recruiting faculty, arranging classroom space and academic materials for programs that include an academic component
- Screen and select staff, including regular intake of seasonal staff
- Screen and select appropriate housing for students
- Provide cultural and professional orientation for students upon arrival, and continue to provide support throughout the program
- Assist in student emergencies and responsibility for student safety throughout the program
- Plan and host visits from partner universities as well as EUSA colleagues
- Monthly financial reporting
- Ensure the compliance with local laws and keep the Operations Director informed of changes in local legislation
- 24-hour emergency on call duty shared with other team members
Duties
- Timely communication with students, partner universities, parents, EUSA University Relations in Boston and EUSA Management
- Prepare updated costs for program delivery on an annual basis
- Quality assurance assessment of programs
- Update orientation presentations, pre-departure, and arrival handbooks and Dublin related website content
- Assist Placement Team with student internship placement as required
- When appropriate, participate in finding new university partners for Dublin and EUSA in general
- Other reasonable duties as required
Travel
- A minimum of 1-2 weeks in the US in spring and autumn for on-campus orientations and placement meetings
- Some travel for internal meetings in Europe (about 1 week per year)
Profile and Requirements

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Overview
The Operations Director works closely with the Executive Director to supervise and support sites and program delivery. The Operations Director will also, in coordination with the Executive Director and University Relations Director, ensure that programs transition smoothly from planning to delivery to follow-up.
The Operations Director works across all of EUSA's sites, both in a direct supervisory capacity and ensuring coordinated execution of projects and initiatives.
The Operations Director will be a member of the Management Team and will work closely with the other members of the Management Team to develop, implement, and improve operational systems, processes, and policies in support of EUSA's goals
This position is based in London.
Reporting Relationships
The Operations Director reports to the Executive Director.
Site Directors report to the Operations Director.
Accountabilities
- Strengthening and sustaining EUSA wide operational systems, guidelines and processes to support the effective and efficient operation of programs
- Coordinated and cooperative program planning and delivery process with University Relations
- Thorough preparation and planning for all visa compliance issues
Responsibilities
- lncreased effectiveness and efficiency of sites through improvements to coordination and communication
- Coordinating and driving implementation of initiatives
- Long term planning with a focus on achieving operational excellence
Duties
- Develop and maintain operational guidelines to support the delivery of academic internship programs across sites
- Ensure that contracted services are delivered, including academics
- Manage program/student capacity in sites
- Forecasting student numbers, tracking attrition rates
- Production of accurate program budgets
- Determine operational viability of proposed programs
- Work in conjunction with site directors on temporary staffing requirements
- Provide troubleshooting and crisis management support to site teams
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of visa requirements and immigration issues
- Hold annual Site Director meetings
- Produce monthly status reports on site activity
- Liaison with Academic Director on academic matters to support delivery and future planning
- Participation in Academic Advisory Committee meetings
- Review and provide input to ongoing reviews of EUSA documentation and website
- Develop a working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Security requirements across sites to support routine and crisis operations
- Other reasonable duties as required.
Travel
Travel to the sites at least once a year and then on an as needed basis. Travel to Boston for coordinating meeting with University Relations at least once a year. Attendance at conferences as and when required.

UNIVERSITY RELATIONS TRAINEES
These positions provide candidates with an excellent overview of EUSA, a great introduction to international education, an opportunity to learn first-hand about the field of study abroad and a chance to work with academic leaders. Ideally we are looking for one individual to support the university relations managers and another to support the marketing and development manager.
This is a 6 month position that commences mid June 2010 and culminates mid December 2010.
UNIVERSITY RELATIONS MANAGER
Reporting to the University Relations Director, the University Relations Manager for the Boston office will assist US colleges and universities in establishing and maintaining academic internship programs throughout Europe. This job involves collaboration with university offices to develop and manage programs. Travel to various universities around the U.S. to attend study abroad fairs and hold information sessions is an integral part of helping with marketing and recruiting efforts. The position will also provide support to the University Relations Director, which involves maintaining the program database, liaising with European offices and helping to keep the office well organized and running smoothly.

MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
The Marketing and Development Manager will establish and grow academic internship programs in line with organizational goals. This job involves collaboration with university offices to develop programs and new business opportunities. An integral part of the position will be to manage marketing efforts through campaigns, collateral and conference attendance. The position will also provide support to the University Relations Director and the Information Director.

PARIS PLACEMENT MANAGER
The EUSA Paris Placement Manager is based in Paris and works directly with the Paris Program Director. The Placement Manager’s chief responsibility is finding internship placements for students throughout the year, as well as helping to manage the students’ internship throughout the experience: from interviewing potential students, to finding the appropriate internship placement, to ensuring a positive experience throughout the internships.

Duties
- Assisting internship placements and internship management, including resolving any problems that might come up and determining the best possibilities and actions
- Participating in orientation and workshops to prepare students to their internships
- Finding new companies and contacts for potential internships
- Updating Filemaker Pro Database
- Responding to student's questions and email queries, including incoming and potential students, regarding EUSA Paris program and internship possibilities
- Preparation, translation and updating of various EUSA documents
- General office management: Checking phone messages and responding in a timely manner, post office and other errands as needed, petty cash
- On-call 24/7 to troubleshoot emergencies (to be shared with the Paris Director)
Profile and Requirements
- Educational requirements: Bachelor's degree.
- Knowledge of educational systems in US and in France is very important.
- Years of work experience. 1 to 2 years essential (ideally in France)
- Relevant industries: education, administration, academia, international companies.
- Languages: French (ideally fluent) and English (intermediate acceptable).
- Software or other technical skills: Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Filemaker not necessary.
- Candidate must be a French or European Citizen, or otherwise entitled to work in France.
